Patient Services are responsible for dealing with the following:

Compliments and Complaints

acknowledgement of all formal compliments and complaints
follow up and investigation of complaints
relaying the outcome of complaints to relevant parties

Administrative Access to Medical Records
retrieval and copying of medical records as requested by solicitors, patients (all third party requests require consent
Medical Reports
for Gardai and Solicitor
Freedom of Information
dealing with all queries and requests through FOI
Litigation Cases
assisting with the preparation of information and files on litigation cases being brought against the hospita
Death Registration
recording of deaths in the Hospital’s Death Registration Book
notification to Next of Kin/Relative of procedure in relation to collection of Death notification Form and registering of death
Parliamentary Questions and T.D. correspondence
Following up and responding to relevant Parliamentary Questions and T.D. letters
co-ordinating the communication of relevant information to all staff throughout the Hospital
collating and designing submissions for inclusion in the staff newsletter “Lakeside”.  Printing and distribution of staff newsletter throughout the Hospital.
