Patient Accounts

The Patient Accounts section handles the billing and payments from the Emergency Department. The hospital offers both public and private accommodation, and patients are billed based on this.

Private Insurance Cover

We have direct payment agreements with the following providers: VHI, Irish Life Health, Laya Healthcare, Garda Medical Aid, Prison Officers Medical Aid, and ESB.

After confirming the billing status, patients are billed according to legal regulations. The department is responsible for managing billing and making sure that outstanding debts are collected efficiently and on time.

Payment Options

Payments can be made using cash, cheque, or postal order (payment also accepted in person at the Patient Accounts desk in the main hospital). Additionally, payments can be processed over the phone using Laser, Visa, or MasterCard.

For assistance, you can contact the HSE Income Services Helpline at 1800 852 445.

The NGH Patient Accounts Department currently operates a telephone service from 9 AM to 4 PM, allowing patients to pay their invoices over the phone. We also accept cheques and postal orders as usual.
