Our Aim

Our aim is to address the needs of each patient with an exceptional standard of care.

Our Teams and Patient Care Approach

Our multidisciplinary team understands and addresses the unique needs of each patient. This helps them to deliver safe high-quality care. The theatre staff comprises of experienced professionals led by:

  • Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) 3: managing resources, planning and implementing services.
  • Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) 2: supports the CNM3 by providing clinical leadership, coordinating care, and ensuring patient safety and quality of care.

Our theatre staff nurses include:

  • Anaesthetic Nurses: assesses each patient along with the anaesthetist. They assist the anaesthetic team.
  • Scrub Nurses: Maintain a sterile environment, prepare instruments and assist the surgeon during procedures. Their attention to detail is vital for infection control and patient safety.
  • Circulating Nurses: Manage the overall environment in the operating theatre. Ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are available. They coordinate patient care before, during, and after surgery.
  • Recovery Nurses: Help the patient transition out of the general anaesthesia in a calm and safe environment.

Our experienced theatre staff are friendly, helpful and competent in every phase of peri-operative and endoscopy procedures.

For patients with additional care needs we ask caregivers or a relative to be with the patient in the Reception Area before the procedure. They are also welcomed in the Recovery Room following the procedure, under the guidance of the nurse coordinator.

Nursing Students

We extend a warm welcome to nursing students undertaking clinical placements as part of their degree programmes. We provide mentorship and support during their time in the Operating Department, fostering their professional development within this specialty.
