Patient's Property and Valuables

Naas General Hospital cannot accept responsibility for the loss, theft or damage to any valuables, money or other articles that you bring with you.

You are strongly advised not to bring jewellery and other valuables to hospital.

If you are admitted without advance preparation, please ask a family member or friend to take your valuables home.

Any valuables that remain with you should be given to hospital staff to safe keep in a secure safe; any cash should be given to hospital staff to lodge into a Patient Private Property bank account for the duration of your stay and will be returning in cheque format upon your request.

Please ensure that you have secure and labelled storage containers for hearing aids, glasses and dentures.

What to bring with you:

  • Nightwear and dressing gown
  • Suitable footwear e.g. runners / shoes / slippers with laces / velcro / zips & ankle support.
  • Comfortable day clothes(maximum of 2 sets)
  • Underwear
  • Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, razor, face cloth, shower gel etc)
  • List of medication
  • Walking aid (if required)
  • Phone charger and ear phones (if required)
  • Personal and medical insurance information

Place all items in a clearly labelled carry bag with name tag

Please do not bring:

  • Valuables
  • Jewellery
  • Rings
  • Cash (except a small amount)
  • Bank cards
